These days, when I get ready for date nights, I’ve noticed my hair getting oily quicker than usual and my scalp occasionally feeling irritated. It especially irks me when I spot little white flakes that become so strikingly obvious against my dark black hair…
I thought I was dealing with hair problems, but it turns out my scalp might’ve been the real issue all along. So after hearing about the new Dead Sea Mud Mineral Scalp Detox treatment at Bee Choo Origin, I got curious. A treatment designed to deeply cleanse, detoxify and replenish the scalp with mineral-rich nutrients sounded like exactly the reset I didn’t know I needed.
So before my next date night, I decided to put it to the test.
So what exactly is the treatment?
Naturally, I booked an appointment at my nearest outlet in Bedok. But if you don’t live in the East like me, Bee Choo Origin has seven locations across Singapore. All outlets are conveniently located within heartland neighbourhoods and are easily accessible.

When I stepped into the salon, I was surprised by the number of customers receiving treatments. I had booked a midday slot thinking it would be less crowded since I generally prefer a quieter and cosier setting. As I was contemplating which spot would be best suited for my introverted soul, one of the staff members noticed my preference and gave me the option of heading up to the second floor, where I was pleasantly welcomed by a much quieter ambience.
After settling in, I was introduced to the Dead Sea Mud Mineral Scalp Detox treatment and given a quick rundown of the key ingredients and steps involved. I learnt that the mask contains authentic Dead Sea Mud enriched with the brand’s proprietary herbal expertise, Bee Choo Essence.
For the uninitiated, Dead Sea Mud is often referred to as the “black gold” of skincare due to its high concentration of beneficial minerals that are known for their soothing, restorative and barrier-supporting properties. These minerals help nourish the scalp and strengthen its natural barrier.

Next, a small scanner was brought out for a quick scan of different areas of my scalp. I had always assumed I had an oily scalp and confidently told them they would probably see clogged hair follicles on the screen. To my surprise, the scans actually revealed that I had a dry scalp instead.
I took the opportunity to tap into their expertise and ask for advice on managing this condition at home, and was given plenty of useful tips that I could easily incorporate into my routine.
The treatment I had been anticipating then began with the application of a scalp and hair defence oil to help moisturise and protect my scalp. A gentle head massage followed as the oil was evenly spread across my scalp before moving on to the key step of the treatment — the application of the Dead Sea Mud Mineral Scalp Detox mask.

My hair was meticulously sectioned into different layers to ensure my entire scalp was evenly covered and could fully benefit from the mask’s restorative properties. As the mask was applied, I honestly couldn’t smell much of it and only really noticed the cooling sensation spreading across my scalp.
After leaving the mask on for about five minutes, I was invited over to the wash basin to rinse it off.
After the hair wash, I was told that two products — a scalp moisture lotion and hair tonic — would be applied before blow-drying my hair. The scalp moisture lotion helps hydrate the scalp and improve elasticity, while the hair tonic helps soothe and support a firmer, healthier scalp environment for hair growth.

I was particularly fascinated by how the hair tonic was applied using an interesting mist diffuser device that sprayed the tonic evenly onto my scalp. I mentioned how I often struggle with applying hair tonics myself because they sometimes feel oily or unevenly distributed, and jokingly asked whether I could purchase that handy tool for home use.
The relaxing treatment, which lasted a little over an hour, concluded with a blow-dry.
Would I consider the treatment effective?

I genuinely enjoyed my experience at Bee Choo Origin and, at $68 per session, it’s a treatment I wouldn’t mind indulging in again.
That said, after just a single session, it would be difficult for me to objectively conclude whether the treatment is effective in addressing all my hair and scalp concerns. However, the post-treatment scans did reveal a visibly cleaner and more refreshed scalp, which gave me some confidence in its ability to provide an instant scalp reset.
That alone has convinced me to give it another try and commit to a regular scalp detox routine over time to see whether I’ll notice a meaningful difference in my everyday hair and scalp condition — especially as I continue preparing for date nights.
If this has piqued your interest and you’re keen to experience the new Dead Sea Mud Mineral Scalp Detox treatment for yourself, take this as your sign to finally do it. Prior booking is required, so make an appointment online at your preferred outlet before heading down!
