18 Fun Date Ideas in Singapore That Aren’t Just Dinner & Drinks

fun date ideas singapore

Running out of fun date ideas in Singapore? Here are 18 fun activities for couples that go way beyond the usual. Budget-friendly, splurge-worthy and everything in between.

Singapore is small, sure. But the number of couples who tell us they’ve “done everything” while having never paddled a glow-in-the-dark kayak through a mangrove or watched their partner attempt to stay upright on a wakeboard is, well, kinda alarming. There’s a whole city out there that most of us only ever see from the same three MRT lines.

Here’s a mix of 20 creative date ideas that will give you something better to talk about at the end of the night than “the food was okay lah.”

The bikes are full-size hybrids, and water and helmets are included. Book via Let’s Go Tour Singapore or via Viator.

“Experience the future of dining, fun-dining”, proclaims the website. Groovy.

If you only try one thing on this entire list, probably make it this. Absurdities is a two-hour, six-course immersive omakase at a secret Jalan Besar location that gets revealed 24 hours before your booking. The journey starts at Asylum Coffee (a café that, it turns out, is hiding an entire restaurant behind it) and from there you’re led through six themed rooms: sci-fi cockpit, wizard’s library etc. Duo tickets have regular discounts as well.

Wear comfortable clothes and shoes. There is crawling. There is climbing. There is movement. Perhaps leave the heels at home.

  • Price: $174/pax (groups of two) or $169.50/pax (groups of four). Includes six-course omakase + two alcoholic drinks.

Walk away with full bellies, actual cooking skills and a connection to Singapore’s food heritage that goes a lil’ deeper than just, you know, eating the stuff. Book here.

Then head to HyperDrive at The Palawan for Asia’s first indoor gamified electric go-kart circuit, complete with power-ups and the ability to sabotage your partner Mario Kart-style. Competitive/gamer couples, this is your evening.

Now go forth and have fun

Singapore, for all its compactness, has a surprisingly deep well of things to do if you’re willing to look past the usual suspects.

So, pick something. Go this weekend. And have fun.

We insist.

Cable wakeboarding at Singapore Wake Park, night cycling around Marina Bay, go-karting Mario Kart-style at HyperDrive on Sentosa, and racing down neon-lit tracks at Night Luge are all solid picks for couples who’d rather break a sweat than sit still.

Absurdities (a six-course immersive dining experience at a secret location) and the current David Hockney exhibition at IMBA Theatre are two of the most talked-about experiences running right now.

IMBA Theatre at Gardens by the Bay, Studio Frond’s botanical matcha and flower arranging in Joo Chiat, Pop City X Pony’s Japanese city-pop cocktail bar, and Skyscape JB paired with café hopping are all fresh additions to the Singapore date scene.
