Planning a romantic Chinese New Year dinner but not keen on feeding 10 relatives? Here are set menus for two, affordable buffets and options that don’t require a round table. Here are the best CNY dining deals in Singapore for couples this Year of the Horse.
Not every CNY celebration involves a massive reunion dinner with your entire extended family. Sometimes it’s just the two of you, and that’s perfectly fine. The challenge, though, is that most festive menus seem designed for tables of four, six or 10. You’ll either end up over-ordering or feeling a bit out of place at restaurants packed with multi-generational families.
However, we think that smaller gatherings deserve equally memorable meals. There’s definitely no need to pony up for a table of four when you’re looking for something more intimate.
To that end, we’ve rounded up the best CNY dining deals for couples in Singapore. Have a look!

Frequently asked questions
How do couples decide between dining out and ordering a takeaway CNY feast?
Consider your mood and schedule. Dining out offers ambience and service, while takeaway lets you celebrate in pyjamas. Takeaway bundles from eateries like Suki-Ya are great for cosy nights in.
How can couples celebrate CNY meaningfully without committing to a full reunion dinner?
Share a solo-size yusheng at home, book a progressive set menu for two, or enjoy a hotpot buffet together. The ritual of tossing yusheng and sharing festive dishes matters more than the table size.
Are hotel buffets or restaurant set menus better suited for couples during CNY?
Buffets offer variety and flexibility, while set menus provide a more intimate, curated experience. For couples, per-person-priced buffets or minimum-two-pax set menus tend to offer better value.
How can couples personalise a festive meal to make it feel special rather than routine?
Book somewhere with a view or unique ambience, add a yusheng toss to your meal, or pick a restaurant with interactive elements like hotpot. Small touches like dressing up or bringing a bottle of wine can also elevate the occasion.
