Running out of fun date ideas in Singapore? Here are 18 fun activities for couples that go way beyond the usual. Budget-friendly, splurge-worthy and everything in between.
Singapore is small, sure. But the number of couples who tell us they’ve “done everything” while having never paddled a glow-in-the-dark kayak through a mangrove or watched their partner attempt to stay upright on a wakeboard is, well, kinda alarming. There’s a whole city out there that most of us only ever see from the same three MRT lines.
Here’s a mix of 20 creative date ideas that will give you something better to talk about at the end of the night than “the food was okay lah.”

Fun activities for couples who like to move
1. Marina Bay Night Cycling Tour

There’s a specific kind of romance to cycling past Marina Bay Sands at night when the tourist crowds have thinned and the skyline is doing all the heavy lifting. This guided two-hour ride covers about 15 km through the illuminated precinct and the route often lines up with the MBS light and water show.
The bikes are full-size hybrids, and water and helmets are included. Book via Let’s Go Tour Singapore or via Viator.
- Where: Let’s Go Tour Singapore, Blk 462 Crawford Lane, #01-57, Singapore 190462 (10 min walk from Lavender MRT)
- Price: ~$60/pax
- When: Daily at 7pm.
2. Cable wakeboarding at Singapore Wake Park

Singapore’s only cable-ski park located at East Coast Park. System A is built specifically for beginners, with an instructor guiding you one at a time. Expect hilarious wipeouts and maybe even genuine high-fives when you finally stay upright for more than three seconds. Well, or if you can. You can book through the website here.
Afterwards, there’s a café right by the lagoon and you’re also a short walk from the East Coast Park beachfront for a sunset wind-down.
- Where: 1206A East Coast Parkway, Singapore 449891
- Price: $55/rider per hour
- When: Mon to Fri 10am to 9pm, Sat & Sun 9am to 8pm
3. Bouldering at Boulder+ Aperia

No ropes or harnesses, just you, your partner and a wall covered in colour-coded problems ranging from “yeah I can do this” to “whew, absolutely not.”
There’s free shoe rental for first-timers, and on Tuesdays and Thursdays, they run Early Bird passes at $12 with free coffee. Tim Ho Wan is downstairs for the inevitable post-climb feast.
- Where: 12 Kallang Avenue, #03-17 Aperia Mall, Singapore 339511
- Price: $24/adult day pass. Shoe rental ~$4.
- When: Mon 12.30pm to 10.30pm | Tue to Fri 7.30am to 10pm | Sat 8am to 8pm | Sun 8am to 5.30pm
4. Glow Kayak Night Adventure

LED-lit kayaks. Pasir Ris mangroves. At night. The kayaks glow beneath you as you paddle through the waterways, spotting crabs, mudskippers and whatever else decides to show up. It’ll be a date where the photos almost don’t do it justice, but you’ll try anyway (bring a waterproof phone case if you do?). Book here.
- Where: Pasir Ris Beach
- Price: ~$75 to $95/pax
- When: Evening sessions, typically departing 6.30pm to 7pm
Get creative together
5. IMBA Theatre at Gardens by the Bay (new, opened Feb 2026)

Barely a month old at the time of writing and the IMBA Theatre is already one of the most talked-about cultural venues in Singapore – an immersive arts space with a huge projection wall (one of Southeast Asia’s largest). Photography is encouraged everywhere. Book here.
A potential move is to combine the indoor exhibitions with a sunset stroll through the outdoor sculptures – then dinner somewhere nearby at Gardens by the Bay.
- Where: IMBA Theatre, West Lawn, Gardens by the Bay, 18 Marina Gardens Drive, Singapore 018953 (Bayfront MRT, Exit B)
- Price: From $32/adult (weekday)
- When: Daily, 9am to 9pm (last entry 8pm)
6. Sip ‘N’ Paint at Paintblush

Paint on canvas, drink wine and pretend you’ve always had artistic inclinations (you do). Paintblush on Arab Street runs a dedicated Couples Love Package at $199 for two that includes both canvases, wine, snacks and a complimentary photobooth session where all digital photos are returned. Absolutely zero artistic talent required – just have fun.

- When: Daily 10am to 10pm (by booking only)
7. Pottery at Studio Asobi

A home-based studio near Kovan MRT where the vibe is closer to “visiting a friend who happens to be a potter” than attending a class. The instructors here teach hand-modelling techniques in a cosy setting with complimentary snacks and drinks. You each create and take home a glazed, kiln-fired ceramic piece.
Check sessions availability, or if you still have them, book using your SG Culture Pass credits.
- Where: Near Kovan MRT
- Price: $95/pax
8. Studio Frond (new, opened late 2025)

Studio Frond: a weekend-only botanical matcha bar in Joo Chiat where you design your own takeaway floral arrangement while sipping matcha. We know, we know, it sounds almost aggressively Instagram-y. Two matcha grades are available (Chinese Zhejiang and Japanese Uji), plus speciality options like White Corn Matcha and Miso Butterscotch. The actual floral arrangement takes about 10 minutes and is beginner friendly as well.
Combine it with a walk around the Joo Chiat neighbourhood for a proper afternoon, or maybe you’d prefer coffee in the area instead.
- Where: 216 Joo Chiat Road, #01-05, Singapore 427483
- Price: Drinks $6 to $11. Floral kit from $15. Total for two: ~$42 to $52.

9. Absurdities by AndSoForth

“Experience the future of dining, fun-dining”, proclaims the website. Groovy.
If you only try one thing on this entire list, probably make it this. Absurdities is a two-hour, six-course immersive omakase at a secret Jalan Besar location that gets revealed 24 hours before your booking. The journey starts at Asylum Coffee (a café that, it turns out, is hiding an entire restaurant behind it) and from there you’re led through six themed rooms: sci-fi cockpit, wizard’s library etc. Duo tickets have regular discounts as well.
Wear comfortable clothes and shoes. There is crawling. There is climbing. There is movement. Perhaps leave the heels at home.
- Price: $174/pax (groups of two) or $169.50/pax (groups of four). Includes six-course omakase + two alcoholic drinks.
- When: Mon, Thu to Sat, 6pm to 11pm
10. Cooking class at Food Playground

Learning to cook three Singaporean dishes from scratch in a heritage Chinatown shophouse? Hmm, okay, sounds vaguely interesting. But the instructors aren’t chefs – they’re local mums and seniors who are more than happy to share their personal stories alongside recipes for laksa, nasi lemak, ondeh ondeh and more. Walk away with full bellies, actual cooking skills and a connection to Singapore’s food heritage that goes a lil’ deeper than just, you know, eating the stuff. Book here.
- Where: 24A Sago Street, Singapore 059020
- Price: $120 nett/pax
- When: Mon to Fri, 9.30am to 6pm
11. Cocktail-making workshop at Hopscotch

Hopscotch at The Capitol Kempinski runs a cocktail-making workshop with small groups, where award-winning bartenders walk you through shaking, stirring and muddling techniques. You can make two to three cocktails during the session, which for sure beats just sitting across from each other at a bar. Book for a Friday or Saturday evening for proper date night vibes.

12. Joya Onsen Cafe

Singapore’s first standalone onsen complex. Couples can book a private onsen room with hot spring pool, dry sauna and shower for 1.5 hours. After soaking, don a yukata and order ramen or rice bowls at the tatami-style café – no need to fly all the way to Japan for this authentic experience.

- Price: Private Onsen for two plus 2 meal set: $188

13. Sembawang Hot Spring Park (FREE)

Singapore’s only natural hot spring. Soak your feet together in naturally heated mineral water at the communal pools, stroll through the surrounding fruit trees (and edible garden?) and enjoy a date that costs absolutely nothing. Could get a bit crowded, however.
Friendly reminder: Bring your own towel and a change of socks.
- When: 7am to 7pm daily
Date night spots that just opened
14. Abode rooftop bar (NEW, opened late 2025)

A hidden rooftop on Level 6 of a South Bridge Road building that most people walk past without knowing it’s there. It’s got panoramic city views and indoor and outdoor seating. The happy hour ($14 cocktails from 6.30pm to 8.30pm) makes it a great wallet-friendly option amongst the other rooftop options that we’ve covered previously.
I’ll be personally waiting to try the signature LKY Ondeh (dark rum with banana, coconut and pandan).
- Where: 50 South Bridge Road, Level 6, Singapore 058682
- Price: Cocktails $19 nett. Happy hour $14.
- When: Tue to Sat, 6pm to midnight

A Japanese city-pop-inspired cocktail bar by the Jigger & Pony Group (one of Asia’s top bar teams), in collaboration with House of Suntory. Retro Japanese aesthetics, curated vinyl, and cocktails like the Matcha Ramos Fizz ($27) and Hojicha Espresso Martini ($25). Try to book the cosy Bar Mixtape nook for a private listening session together.
It’s intimate, it’s beautifully designed and the matcha lovers among us will be very, very happy.

16. Skyscape at Menara JLand, JB

JB’s first observation deck, perched 149 metres up with a glass-floored Sky Bridge offering views of both Johor and Singapore. A maximum of six visitors per session keeps it intimate and the whole place is just a seven-minute walk from the Causeway checkpoint.

- Price: RM38/adult (~$12). Anti-slip socks RM2 to RM5 extra.
- When: Daily 9am to 10pm (last admission ~8.30pm)
17. Lazarus Island

A pristine C-shaped white sand beach with turquoise water, far quieter than Sentosa. No passport needed; pack a picnic, swim, kayak, or simply lie on the sand and pretend you’re not 20 minutes from the CBD. Bring everything with you (water, food, sunscreen, towel, trash bags), because there are no shops on the island. Book here, or even here if you’d like.
- Where: Lazarus Island (ferry from Marina South Pier MRT, Exit B)
- Price: Ferry return: ~$15 to $18/adult
- Book: Marina South Ferries or Singapore Island Cruise
18. Sentosa Night Luge + HyperDrive

Two Sentosa thrills in one evening. Night Luge (Fridays and Saturdays only, 7pm to 9pm) sends you racing down neon-lit tracks to pumping music with a three-ride combo, plus a Skyride chairlift with night views that are pretty darn stunning. Then head to HyperDrive at The Palawan for Asia’s first indoor gamified electric go-kart circuit, complete with power-ups and the ability to sabotage your partner Mario Kart-style. Competitive/gamer couples, this is your evening.
