1. Cultural Event: Singapore HeritageFest 2026
The annual Singapore HeritageFest kicks off this year on 1 May. Focusing on our country’s maritime heritage and deep connection to the sea, activities include cultural performances, land and sea tours, guided trails, workshops and exhibitions.
Couples can head down to the green space outside the Asian Civilisations Museum for HOMEGROUND @ ACM GREEN, an immersive festival village happening on Fridays and Saturdays. On 1 May, a showcase of traditional folk art performances kick off at 6pm. 2. A meaningful date at Do Good Fest

8. Movie Premier: Colony (Gunche 군체in Korean)
A textbook date idea, catching a movie at the cinema never goes out of style, especially when it’s to watch a highly anticipated blockbuster. Colony, a Korean movie starring a stellar cast including Jun Ji-hyun, Koo Kyo-hwan, Ji Chang-wook and Go Soo, is a zombie thriller reminiscent of Train to Busan. Not surprising since both are works by director Yeon Sang-ho.
As in Yeon’s own words, Colony is set to be the “most commercial film (he’s) made so far”, aka it’s slated to be a major action hit. Expect lots of chaotic scenes where survivors of a biological outbreak wrestle with infected zombies that mutate, suggesting the rise of a new species.
