Recycling the same anniversary plans every year? Not this one. Here are 10 first anniversary date ideas (and milestone anniversary ideas) across every budget in Singapore.
Another year, another anniversary. It’s 11pm the night before, and you’re wondering if “that Italian place again” counts as effort. It does not. We checked.
Sadly, it’s true that anniversaries quietly become routine. Year one feels monumental. By year three you’re booking somewhere nice without thinking too hard about it. By year five the whole thing is on autopilot: restaurant, wine, maybe a cake, wham, bam – done.
But this is supposed to be the one day a year you really try.
And if you do want to try, we can help – here’s our list covering different types of dates, different budgets and even different relationship milestones.

Sunset walk along the Southern Ridges

We know “free anniversary date” sounds like you forgot to plan, but the Southern Ridges earns its spot here: a 10 km hilltop trail connecting four parks with Henderson Waves, Singapore’s highest pedestrian bridge at 36 metres, as its centrepiece. And it doesn’t have to be the only activity, of course.
The wave-shaped timber ribs form alcove seats that fit exactly two people (convenient, right?). Consider getting there around 5 to 7pm, settle in and watch the sky do its thing. After dark, the LED lighting kicks in, turning the bridge into a night-time spectacle.
After a lovely walk together, perhaps go on to a nearby restaurant for dinner, such as The Alkaff Mansion at UNA (also on this list, further down).
Location: Henderson Road, between Mount Faber Park and Telok Blangah Hill Park
Gardens by the Bay + dinner at Hortus

You probably already know that the Supertree Grove is free to walk through, and that the Garden Rhapsody light show at 7.45pm and 8.45pm is also free. And if you’d like a walk in the Flower Dome and Cloud Forest as well, tickets run about $20-ish per adult.
But the real play here is dinner at Hortus, a Mediterranean restaurant inside the Flower Dome. Their nine-dish shared menu is $68++ per person, and diners get complimentary Flower Dome access plus a buggy ride in. The fairy-lit pergola seating surrounded by all that greenery feels like a private garden party on its own.
We’d suggest doing the free outdoor gardens first, catching the light show, then heading to Hortus for dinner.

Pottery class at Mud Rock Ceramics

You might be going on to make something ugly. Both of you. But, hey, we think that’s the beauty of it.
Mud Rock Ceramics is run by Seok and Michelle, two professional ceramic artists who’ve been practising for over 18 years. Their studio has made dinnerware for Michelin-starred restaurants, and they’ve even crafted a commissioned tea set that was gifted to Queen Elizabeth II, amongst other achievements.
The Ad Hoc Trial Session (book here) gives you two to three hours on Japanese Shimpo wheels with proper guidance, unlimited clay, and one finished piece that gets trimmed, glazed, and fired for you to collect weeks later. At ~$80 per person, it’s one of the more affordable cute anniversary date ideas that also leaves you with a physical keepsake.
Address: 315 Outram Road, Tan Boon Liat Building, #14-01, Singapore 169074
Cooking class at Palate Sensations

If food is your love language (and this is Singapore, so it probably is), Palate Sensations runs a market-to-table experience that’s properly fun. A professional chef brings you through Tiong Bahru Market first, pointing out the good stuff and explaining the stories behind the produce. Then you head to their open-concept kitchen near Buona Vista MRT to cook three to four Singaporean dishes together, such as Sambal Squid, Laksa, Sambal Kangkong and Chicken Rice – all heavy hitters in their own right.
‘Couples who cook together are the happiest’ – but, I mean, don’t just take our word for it. Hear it straight from the horse’s mouth here.
The whole thing runs three to four hours and costs about $148 to $168 per person. You eat what you cook, which adds a nice sense of stakes (or comedy, depending on skill level). Private bookings for couples are available, which we’d recommend (duh) for an anniversary. Book at palatesensations.com.

Dinner at UNA at The Alkaff Mansion

Yep, UNA is one of those places that makes you forget you’re in Singapore entirely.
Sitting on the second level of a restored 1918 Tudor-style colonial mansion on Telok Blangah Hill, the whole vibe here is southern European countryside. The food is Basque and Spanish –expect tapas, paellas and more.
A full dinner for two with drinks comes to roughly $80 to $150++ per person. The staff are known to arrange little anniversary touches with advance notice, so mention it when you book.

Labyrinth: a Michelin-starred love letter to Singapore food

For milestone anniversary dinners, this is probably the one. Chef LG Han’s one-Michelin-star “New Singaporean” tasting menu reimagines hawker heritage: chilli crab reimagined as a pie, a Ramly burger reinterpreted as tartare with meringue, cereal prawns turned into an oat ice cream dessert with curry leaf aromatics, and a kaya toast finale that’s better than it has any right to be. It’s the kind of meal where you keep turning to your partner going, “Eh okay, you have to try this.”
Dinner runs about three hours at $298++ per person. Book via their site or on Chope.

Sunset dinner cruise on the Royal Albatross

If you want some proper dramatic flair, it’s kind of hard to top dining on a ship (!) as it cruises past Sentosa and the Singapore skyline at sunset. The Royal Albatross is Asia’s only luxury tall ship and their 2.5-hour dinner cruise includes a multi-course meal, live entertainment, and panoramic sea views. They also run a dedicated wedding anniversary package for couples marking the occasion, which is why we’ve put them on this list.
The Sunset Dinner Cruise starts from $225 per adult.

Staycation at The Fullerton Hotel

The Fullerton needs no introduction. Marina Bay views, 25-metre infinity pool and the works.
Their “Taste the Good Life” package bundles $100 nett in dining credits across their restaurants with 20% off spa treatments. Room rates start from about $250 per night and the offer runs through 30 December 2026.
For couples wondering where to celebrate an anniversary in Singapore with a staycation, the Fullerton sits at that sweet spot where you’re next to the Merlion, Boat Quay and pretty much everything in the CBD.

Capella Singapore: the big milestone splurge

Year 10. Year 15. Year 20. If you’ve made it that far, go ahead and spend a bit more. (Or, okay, a lot more.)
Capella sits within 30 acres of rainforest gardens on Sentosa, housed in restored colonial bungalows. It’s consistently rated among the best resorts in Asia, and their “Moments to Remember” package is built for this kind of milestone anniversary celebration: limousine pickup, three-course dinner at Fiamma, in-room anniversary setup, daily breakfast for two. Expect to pay about $900 to $1,500+ per night depending on room type.
For the full works, the One-Bedroom Villa comes with a private plunge pool. The Auriga Spa also does couples massages in private suites. Extravagant? Very. Memorable? Definitely.

Montigo Resorts Nongsa, Batam: short anniversary trip

Sometimes the best anniversary plan is just to leave the country, even if it’s only for 30 minutes by ferry.
Montigo Resorts sits on Batam’s Nongsa coast, a beachfront villa resort where every room has a private plunge pool and nice views over the South China Sea.
For an anniversary, look no further than their “Enchanting Couple’s Escape” package: daily breakfast, a 30-minute couples massage, a four-course dinner served in your villa, $50 in resort credits, 20% off food and drink and even a complimentary room upgrade. Rates start from around $261 per night, and the package runs through 30 June 2026.
Ferries go from HarbourFront or Tanah Merah (about 30 to 45 minutes) and Montigo runs free shuttle transfers from the terminal.
In terms of travel, we think that it’s close enough to not feel like a logistical headache, but far enough that you’ll switch off entirely. And waking up to South China Sea views from a private pool villa beats your HDB window view lah. (Sorry, but it does.)
Now go plan something, anything
A free sunset walk can be just as romantic as a $300 tasting menu – it really depends on who you’re with. But we think that what matters is showing that you’ve put in the effort. Which means probably not leaving it to the night before.
Your other half will notice the difference.
Happy anniversary, you two.
